When a guinea pig goes to a new home, we sign an adoption agreement which states the duties of a new caregiver towards the animal.
We are in the course of forming an official Society for Helping Guinea Pigs in place of the Club. Then we will have a much greater possibility for action.
Education is also a part of our activity. We focus mostly on public awareness of the proper care guinea pigs need and respect they deserve. We also educate about the possibility of adopting guinea pigs instead of buying them in a pet shop. Contrary to popular opinion, not many cavy owners really know their needs, and almost none know that it is possible to adopt a guinea pig through an animal shelter, or a private foster home.
If you want and can help those cute rodents - join us!
About us
Guinea pigs that find their way to us come from various sources - some are abandoned at the animal shelters, some found in the street, neglected by the previous owners, sold at a very low price or given away for free... Free guinea pigs are especially in danger because they can fall into the hands of reptile owners as live food. When a guinea pig goes to a new home, we sign an adoption agreement which states the duties of a new caregiver towards the animal.
